So, I'm going to go back to dieting with intermittent fasting since that has worked in the past. Post surgery kind of sucks because you can't really workout for a bit.
At the doc yesterday, I weighed 149, fully clothed with sneakers on, so I'm likely around 145. I would like to get below 130 before we do another IVF round (since it won't be until June), and below 140 prior to an IUI (hopefully next cycle). I'm still a bit swollen in my belly and afraid to do any really strenuous exercise at this point, I plan to give it another week before hitting the pavement and doing box jumps again. So until then, it'll be mostly walking and light weights (5# dumbbells max for the week). I want to run 5-6 miles daily or bi daily. I'm also planning to start running armed so I don't need to worry about if it gets a little dark while running, or timing of the day; sometimes I need a little nap after work to get going again, which means later start times, plus some people just look super shady and I like to run until I cannot physically do it anymore which can leave me a tad vulnerable. Not to mention it's still getting dark early. Alexo Athletica makes workout gear specifically for carrying for women. I've tested out the pants bumming around town, and barely any printing. I'm totally in love with this, and can't wait to start running in them. Diet wise I plan to follow a lazy keto/carnivore diet. With the persuasion of the BEBB diet from CNY. I'll try to document changes. I just want to ensure I'm doing all possible to push my health back to where I was prior to all the TTC stuff. Hormones really pack on the pounds, plus you constantly stop and restart exercising due to egg retrievals, transfers, etc.

I weighed in on Sunday. I weighed 137.6 lbs. Considering I just started AF and have jumped way off the rails because of it, it isn't bad. I usually gain between 3-5 lbs for AF. I say in a week, I'll probably be at 130-132.
I really can't seem to get back into my diet. I'm not sure if it's the readjusting to work, the fact I haven't been feeling 100%, the fact my digestion is a mess, or a combination all around. Whatever the case, it needs to stop because I can't do it anymore and I want to refocus. Lack of sleep is causing me to crave sugar, shitty digestion is causing me to crave dry carbs, AF caused me to crave pizza and junk in general. My hope is I can get into a schedule and not crave things anymore. I have been trying to get a jog in a couple nights a week and have been successful in this. I think the weight loss has really helped my run time - I'm doing a mile in under 9'30". I'm really excited about this. I'm also finding it easier to go distances; however, my heartburn being at the level it is causes severe chest/gas pain making it difficult to go beyond 2-3 miles consistently. I need to start taking my heartburn medication again to try to curb it. Well, people have noticed that I dropped weight. My husband really noticed it when I was getting ready for work the one morning.
I went way off my diet the past week. So now I'm putting my head down to ensure I stay on it now. Some workout adjustments I made include:
My goal is still to drop another pant size before next transfer. It is going to take work on my diet end. As much as I've gone off my diet, I've stayed to it. If that makes any sense. Like I'm still not having wheat, but I have eaten my fair share of potatoes. I'm trying to get back to eating nuts as snacks, but they do need to be roasted - raw I'm allergic to. I really do need to step on the scale. Next weigh in is going to be Saturday morning. OK. That's all for now. I am back on the rails.
That's all I'm going to say. I will weigh in next week so my body has time to not scare me 😂. Three is a whole paragraph on dietary changes in my CD 8 post. If anyone's interested. Way Off the Rails
So, I've been off the rails for the last 2 weeks. I've continued working out, but I've been eating shitty. Really shitty. I need to get back on my diet, and likely will once AF shows. Although I've gone off the rails, I have stuck to some portions of my diet. Like the sheer fact that I can't eat beef or gluten. I'm still eating grain free. I've just been eating sugary shit and copious amounts of skinny pop, which needs to stop. I need to start making things with honey again and stop buying stuff from the store. I also need to kick ice cream to the curb. I've also tried to keep up with drinking protein post workout, and have overall. So I guess I'm just off the rails due to sweets and popcorn. Also not sticking to a feeding time. When all is said and done, my only time I weighed myself since June was when I went with my husband to his doc appointment. I weighed 139 lbs - fully dressed, towards the end of the day. In other words, if I weighed myself upon waking, I'd probably only be 137-ish. So considering, I didn't gain anything. I finally got new ankle weights, so I've been using those. I love ankle weights, especially in use with boxing drills. New Goals: I plan to use the month I can't transfer to focus on weight loss and getting my diet back on track. I would love to get below 130lbs. Not sure if I will, but I hope to. I plan to get more active, especially with the temptation to get lazy because of work. I'm a long ways into this diet. I have had to make some adjustments due to being on antibiotics and sheer exhaustion from medication.
I've been trying very diligently to get more protein into my days, so I've been drinking protein shakes post workout in the am. Today I decided to double the amount, because I feel like I'm not getting enough protein without supplementing. I upped my weights a little bit with my legs, of course I'll be dropping them in about a week in preparation for transfer. I don't want to cause any fluid build up in my uterus whatsoever. I feel so strong 💪 and fierce. I haven't felt this way in so long. I'm hoping to be at 135 lbs or less next weigh in on Sunday. Old Weight: 140 lbs
Current Weight: 137.6 lbs Change in Weight: - 2.4 lbs Total Weight Lost: 20 lbs Weight Left to Go: 3-8 lbs (though, I'd be happy with 3 lbs before next transfer) How I Feel: I feel good. Wish I lost more, but I'm also on my period. I'm really happy seeing the scale under 140. I'm slowly inching towards my goal. I have about 2 weeks until my transfer, really hoping I make this goal. I did cheat twice this week and had pizza. Then realized, I can't eat pizza; when I eat pizza I get yellow, God awful smelling 💩, which is usually indicative of an intolerance. Considering, I eat cheese and I'm fine, it's likely the gluten. I've been gluten free mostly, and have had no issues prior to. I'm going to try to only cheat once this week. I haven't been walking every day, just from feeling crappy from AF, but I plan to start walking at night/morning now. I also still haven't cut caffeine. I really need to get on that. So, I've been on a diet for about 13 weeks with a detour during treatment. Not a major detour, but a somewhat big one. When I break away from this diet, I feel ridiculously shitty, so it's obviously a smart choice for me.
I decided to introduce some carbs back into my diet. I am allowing rice noodles - I love Chinese food, and rice noodles are legit my favorite; however, this will be sparingly. I just love mei fun!! I know I've mentioned before a Paleo cake recipe that's been a huge hit in my house; in fact, with the chocolate version, I didn't even realize it was in fact not a normal chocolate cake. I more or less modified these into chocolate chip muffins - so a sweet treat. The batter is rather thick, so the chips actually hold in it without needing to be coated in flour. Despite finding great cake recipes, I'm still trying to find a good icing recipe. I think I'll just have to stick with plain old American buttercream until I can find something. I actually weighed myself this morning: 138.2 lbs🎉🙌 I even am mostly back to the weight loads I had before my last IVF cycle!! Progress. I really feel like my goal to be at max 135 lbs in 3.5 weeks is attainable. Who knows, I might even get to 130. 🤞 This is all for now, looking forward to weigh in on Sunday, even though, I will have AF that day and will likely weigh a little more. 😤 Old Weight: 139 lbs
Current Weight: 140 lbs Change in Weight: +1 lb Total Weight Lost: 18 lbs Weight Left to Go: 10 lbs (though, I'd be happy with 5 lbs before next transfer) How I Feel: Well, not thrilled about the fact I've gained anything, but happy I only gained 1 lb. New Short Term Goals: So, basically, I have approximately 3-4 weeks before my next transfer (closer to 4), which means I can actually lose close to - if not - 8 lbs before I transfer. I have two goals before we do our next embryo transfer: 1. Get to a max of 135 lbs; 2. Get to a size 6. These are completely attainable goals in the time frame I have available to me. Next weigh in post will reflect these two goals in the header portion. My Game Plan:
And that's it. I really need to take control of my diet again, I went off the rails for a few days this past week. Plus during my IVF cycle, I didn't get to really cook like I wanted to. IVF 4 fresh transfer has failed, so I'm refocusing back on my diet and exercise program. Trying to rebuild my strength from bed rest and mandatory activity restriction. My hope is it takes me 7-10 days to work back to where I was.
I've found really awesome Paleo cake recipes, they definitely satisfy the sweet cravings very well. I need to put a heavy emphasis back on my diet. I'm no longer in school, I have time to cook and experiment in the kitchen again. This is really important to me, especially with my parents coming to visit me soon. I'm also enjoying wine again. Yeah, I can't cut it for dietary reasons. I just love tasting new ones and figuring out pairings. I am going to however try very hard to cut caffeine. I guess I need to start weighing in weekly again. I'll do that tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll even hit my goal weight (130-135 lbs) leading up to my next transfer. I do have about 3-4 weeks. It'll take a week from today to get AF, then another 2 weeks to trigger and a few days to transfer. |
